Itinerary

Day - 1

Tokyo Arrival: Narita Touchdown

We land at Narita International Airport and meet our representative for a professional transfer into the heart of Tokyo. After checking into the hotel, you have time to settle in and recharge, preparing for the dynamic exploration of Japan's capital that begins tomorrow.

Day - 2

Tokyo Contrasts: Digital Art and Ancient Gates

We dive into Tokyo’s mix of eras, starting with the Tokyo Skytree. From its 350-meter observation deck, we command a panoramic view of the metropolis. Back on the ground, we experience the immersive digital art at TeamLab Planets, wading through water and light. Shifting to tradition, we walk the bustling Nakamise Shopping Street to reach Asakusa Temple (Senso-ji), the city's oldest Buddhist site. The day concludes in the upscale district of Ginza, a hub for high-end dining and architecture, before dinner.

Day - 3

Hakone to Matsumoto: Volcanic Valleys and Castles

We leave the capital for the natural wonders of Hakone. We board a cruise to navigate the calm waters of Lake Ashi, formed in an ancient volcanic caldera. A ride on the Hakone Ropeway offers aerial views over the active sulfuric vents of the Owakudani Valley. After soaking in the dramatic scenery of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, we travel by road to the historic castle city of Matsumoto to check in for the night.

Day - 4

The Alpine Route: Snow Walls and Dam Walks

We embark on the spectacular Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, often called the "Roof of Japan." This journey utilizes a variety of transport modes, including cable cars, trolley buses, and ropeways, to traverse the Northern Alps. Highlights include walking atop the massive Kurobe Dam and passing through the towering Snow Walls (seasonal snow corridors) near Tateyama Station. After crossing the mountain range, we descend to Toyama for dinner and our overnight stay.

Day - 5

Heritage Villages and Floral Lights

We visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Shirakawa-go, famous for its traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses with steep thatched roofs designed to withstand heavy snow. We explore this preserved village to understand rural Japanese life. Later, we travel to Nagoya to visit Nabana no Sato. This botanical garden transforms into one of Japan’s most impressive illumination displays, offering a dazzling floral and light experience before we check into our hotel.

Day - 6

Nagoya to Osaka: Maglev Speed and Neon Streets

We start at the SC Maglev and Railway Park in Nagoya. Here, we examine 39 full-scale railway vehicles and simulators showcasing the evolution of Japanese rail, including the futuristic superconducting Maglev. After lunch, we travel to Osaka, the nation's kitchen. We dive into the energy of Dotonbori, walking along the canal beneath giant neon signboards and sampling the vibrant street food culture before checking into the hotel.

Day - 7

Hiroshima & Miyajima: Peace and Floating Gates

We take the Bullet Train for a poignant day trip to Hiroshima. We pay our respects at the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome, standing at the hypocenter of history. We then take a ferry to Miyajima Island to admire the Itsukushima Shrine, famous for its "floating" vermilion torii gate that appears to hover over the sea at high tide. We return by high-speed rail to the Kansai region for the night.

Day - 8

Kyoto Classics: Bamboo, Gold, and Gates

We explore the cultural heart of Japan, Kyoto. We stroll through the towering green stalks of the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and admire the shimmering reflection of Kinkakuji, the famous Golden Pavilion. The day culminates at Fushimi Inari Taisha, where we hike through the iconic tunnel of thousands of vermilion torii gates winding up the sacred mountain. We return to the hotel after a full day of heritage.

Day - 9

ara Culture: Great Buddha and Kimonos

We travel to Nara to visit Todaiji Temple, a massive wooden structure housing the world's largest bronze Daibutsu (Buddha). In the surrounding park, we can interact with the city's famous bowing deer. To deepen the cultural immersion, we participate in a traditional Kimono Wearing experience, allowing you to dress in authentic Japanese attire for memorable photos. We then transfer to the airport hotel area to prepare for departure.

Day - 10

Japan Departure: Journey Home

We enjoy a final breakfast and check out of the hotel. A professional transfer takes you to the airport for your return flight, bringing your journey through the Alps and cities of Japan to a close.
